Was bigfoot recording this video? What’s with all the huffing? I assume the turbine wasn’t cycling a pump or something.
Hi faboledesma,
Thanks for the kind words, it does resemble a flower, from the front it apears solid so no birds want to fly into it, plus she is silent, she steers into the wind like no other. Thank again.
Spiralairfoil
Yhe most you atend the moter nature closer to the true. I like it. Looks as a flower.
Hi carmatic, It’s a hawt, however I do not consider it fancy buit more efficient then traditionals. The Littlehawk that you see on the youtube is what I call the R.V. version, able to be set up and broken down quickly. She headhunts the wind like no other, I’ve never seen a bird so strong at optimizing energy capture, she’s relentless. Please keep in mind this is only one confige on a broad theme, the variation are many for a “flow of energi if you get my drift. thank you.
hi, i am trying to understand, is this dependent on wind direction? or is it a fancy variation of a VAWT
Hi guitarone110,
Skeptics are welcome, my original statement was that The Spiralairfoil Wind Turbine may come close to or may beat betz law. Alas with out funding it’s very difficult to gain the date requested but at some point Gawd willing the data will be published. It is my belief that this form of wind turbine is no joke and deserves it’s day in court, to be tested and tried, then let the chips fall where they may. I cannot wait for that day to happen. Thank you for the interest.
I would be curious to see some data that proves that this will break betz law..I’m a little skeptical…
We have entered the spiral airfoil into Google’s Project 10 to the 100th contest to help great ideas come to life, ideas to help the world and all in it. Google will narrow it down to the best 100 ideas submitted, and on March 17th the public will get to vote for which ideas they think are the best. If we make the cut to the top 100
Hi DeanC993,
The focus is the wind turbine, sorry I could not figure out just how to turn off the sound, however another great thing about this configuration is that from the front it appears solid to our avain brothers and sisters. I cannot say that the larger version will or will not make more noise, that’s dependant on configuration. I’m glad you like the design, however there are other designs based around the same concept, the sky is the limit!
very efficent, silent, and the only thing i can here is someone breathing! great job
how much power does it generate (in Watts) for different wind speeds?
The one your looking at is 46 inches in diameter at the widest point by 72 inches long, 1.6 mph startup, 12 volts at 8 mph and 24 volts at 13 mph. bearings are rated for 8000 rpm, are air cooled (hollow shaft) because the bearings turn under 500 rpm the bearing system should last virtually forever. stainless steel cable will have to be checked periodically. Can be built to any size. Handles all winds. I,ve invested much time and money, futher developement then onto manufacturing. Thank you.
Specs? Power generated? Cost of bearings? Maintenance? Does it scale? How long to manufacture? How well does it handle high winds? I’ve been looking at wind rotors and helical VAWTS, ‘sky serpents’, and your design is beautiful but investors need answers to the questions above.

Well now, are we talk’n bout the first results or the second results, hey at least someones gonna be happy!Pass them pretzels will yah!
Well Becks just hits my taste – wonderfull. I am looking forward to your results.
I will be happy to post the results but don’t take my barrel, how’s bout a six pack of Becks, a very good German Beer. I bet Betz had a few in his day, I wonder if he reached his limits, prolly around 5.9 percent.
OK let us wait which data you can obtain from testing, but I bet a barrel of beer you will not beat Betz’ limit.
xxlray, the Spiralairfoil Wind turbine is a very serious attempt at improving extracting energy. she’s a real tractor, even in small wind she can break an arm. When I get futher along I intend to put her directly up against the competion and we’ll see where things stand. I’ve been my own doubting Thomas and critic, at first I did not believe my findings and kept looking for the fatal flaw, there must have been one. after much testing and hard work I believe the prototype is worthy of attention.
Yes I saw it. There are too many people in the internet claiming to have the ultimate wind turbine just to make themselves more interesting than they really are.
Don’t misunderstand me. I apreciate each person having the enthusiasm to search for new solutions but it annnoys me when people make promises on their wind turbine that are nothing but hot air. This all falls back on people who work serious on the improvement of wind turbines.
xxlray, Did you see the word “may” in my title, I’ve seen alot of different types of turbines and I believe this one has a very good shot of coming close to or possibly beating the theory. Time will tell all.
Betz has proven(!) that you cannot be better than 59%. What lets you think you can rebut him? Is it just a wish or scientific facts?
I did not claim to be more efficient. It may be even worse than a quarter of Betz’s limit.
anything is possible, a crystal will break rather then bend, stay locked in your personal beliefs til they shatter.anything is possible.
xxlray, I see your turbine and I’m not sure but I think it may not be a quarter of Betz.
